ZayZoon is a participating startup in Batch #1 of The Accelerator, giving employees access to already worked hours before their next payday.
An interview with Tate Hackert, Founder and President at ZayZoon
Canada’s startup community is fueled by entrepreneurs that are coming up with innovative ways to leverage technology. ZayZoon is doing exactly this in Canada’s fin-tech industry by allowing employees to access money entirely from their phone.
What problem does ZayZoon solve?
50% of Canadians live paycheque to paycheque and 2 million Canadians succumb to egregious payday loans each and every year. ZayZoon was created to provide a responsible alternative to this underserved, new generation of employees.
What solution does ZayZoon provide?
ZayZoon provides a responsible way for employees to access their wages, whenever they want. By giving access to already worked hours before their next payday, employees can have more control over their cash-flow, stop paying unnecessary bank fees, and avoid high interest short-term loans.
How has your experience been at The Accelerator?
Our experience has been great so far! The bi-weekly founder dinners and guest speakers have been really beneficial. There is definitely a sense of family among the startups.
At the beginning of the program, The Accelerator matched each startup with a mentor who we have the opportunity to meet with monthly.
“We have been so lucky to work with Patrick Lor, Venture Partner at 500 Startups whose experience in the B2C side of the business has been a huge asset to us. With Pat’s support, we landed an interview with 500 Startups and are hoping to be accepted to the program.” - Tate Hackert, Founder and President at ZayZoon
