An interview with Sean Cooper, Founder of Purposs Technologies
Purposs connects female customers with female beauty and wellness service providers. Customers search, book, and pay for services with nearby providers, and they are matched with the providers offering those services nearby and in real time.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and how your company came to be.
Our team was built on long-term friendship and our shared passion for philanthropy and entrepreneurship. We love taking care of others and we want to create a world where everyone can help each other. This altruistic and optimistic view is what we wanted to leave behind for other generations and it is why we started Purposs (Pronounced ‘Purpose‘).
What problem does Purposs solve?
For Purposs customers, we are acknowledging the need for a time-saving solution to receive beauty and wellness services. For our female service providers, we are acknowledging their struggle to achieve work-life balance.
How do you solve those problems?
Purposs allows service providers to control when and how much they work. Customers get the convenience of working with service providers that are able to come to their location, on-demand. We want to enable people to monetize and collect mobile payments for the goods and services they provide to others in real time.
How has your experience been at The Accelerator?
The Accelerator has allowed us to focus and define the problem we are trying to solve. Having a clear picture of the customers we aim to serve is extremely beneficial because it leads to a clear value proposition that is easy for potential users to understand.
Tell us about some of your major accomplishments in 2017.
We made a pivot that has jump-started a spiral of good things for the company, including getting accepted into the Accelerator!
What's next for Purposs?
We have great mentors and are continuing to surround ourselves with brilliant people who believe in our mission and vision, so the sky is truly the limit. Purposs will focus on expanding economic opportunity so that more women with low paying jobs can cover basic needs in a world with an increasingly high cost of living. Our mandate is to help women generate extra income by empowering them to monetize the skills and products they currently have at their disposal.
