Startup Feature: CHEKit

CHEKit is a participating startup in Batch #2 of The Accelerator, bringing consumers and businesses together in a private, trusted and secure network.

An interview with Alex Jackson, Interim President at CHEKit

Technology has a powerful ability to streamline our lives. CHEKit is simplifying the search for home service providers through a software platform that connects consumers with personal recommendations, streamlined search tools, real-time updates and tracking data. Through the platform, CHEKit businesses benefit from increased productivity through advanced scheduling, invoicing and smart management tools.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how CHEKit came to be.

CHEKit’s team previously started as field ticketing and updating software. Through this, we realized the need for mobile services to be able to manage their staff in the field and track working progress. CHEKit’s team decided to build a tool to help businesses address that challenge, while allowing consumers to find trusted service providers, track progress and get work progress updates.

What problem are you trying to solve?

People have busy lives and often struggle with finding reliable service providers to do housework. It is inconvenient to wait on the phone to order a service and wait for a service provider to arrive within a 3-4 hour window. Once the service provider has been selected and is on the job, the homeowner also wants to receive progress updates.

Please explain how you solve that problem?

CHEKit is a communication tool that connects people to personal recommendations from friends, family and colleagues allowing them to access the home service providers they need. Users can find service providers to complete any job including plumbers, electricians, roofers, internet installers, cleaners and yard maintenance workers. Through CHEKit, people can order trusted services anytime, anywhere and receive updates to track the service provider's time of arrival and work progress.

How has your experience been at The Accelerator?

It had been a great opportunity to meet and work with other founders, share ideas and discuss challenges. The Accelerator provides amazing access to resources through mentorship and Founder Dinners and has opened our startup to expertise in areas that we didn’t have.

What is next for CHEKit?

We’re going to continue to focus on marketing, UI/UX and incorporating customer feedback into the platform.
